About ARPAN

ARPAN was established in June 2006 and registered under society registration act 1860 by the registrar of Joint Stock companies, Port Blair vide registration No. 1316. ARPAN was founded in response to the needs of communities living in rural areas in Andaman & Nicobar Islands and also to the growing need for training and capacity building in these disaster prone Islands.. An important objective of ARPAN was also to develop more effective interfacing between Non-Governments organizations (NGOs) and Government Organizations (GOs), especially those working in the rural areas.

To Provide Complete solution for Rural Development in India. A rural area that is modern, the rural economy that is strong and a rural society that is just.

Vision

To make rural Andaman socially, culturally and economically progressive.

Aims & Objectives

• Work for the welfare of women and children
• To Provide social psychological, legal and medical assistance to children, women, youth and old age persons.
• To help the poor and downtrodden by providing livelihood support by proper network with Govt. and Non Govt. Organizations.
• To work to unite the different religion and culture in the society and to work for the local issues.
• To work to eliminate social evils like drugs, alcoholism, child abuse and child labour.
• To coordinate, collaborate and network with Govt. and non Govt. organizations to advocate issues and concerns of children, youth, women and old age persons.
• To work towards environment protection.
• To work towards prevention of communicable diseases by providing medical assistance in collaboration with Govt. and Non-Government Organizations.
• Disaster management.
• Agriculture and allied activities.
• Vocational Training.
